Case Study 1 – Glamorous yet functional
Brief
Our client wanted to create an open plan space for her and her partner
and her children to enjoy. With a passion for design and an eye for new
trends she had set her heart on a Chandelier extractor fan from Elica,
and a wall mounted siemens liftmatic oven. Our brief was to design a functional
space that would incorporate these feature items along with a requirement
for no wall units and dark wood cabinets.
Design Solution
Our designers set out to create a glamorous interpretation of our client’s
vision that left no compromises. Linear floor cabinets were combined with
a stunning island unit to house the hob and provide a great space for a
glass of wine and a chat after work. Solid walnut cabinets were not dark
enough to achieve the desired effect so European oak doors were stained
dark brown. These cabinets were teamed with light reflecting worktops in
granite incorporating a sunken sink and ridged drainer and a Travertine
floor to add a sense of light and space and to realise the glamorous yet
functional vision.
