At Urbane as part of our environmental policy we are committed to sourcing our kitchen furniture and appliances from suppliers that have an excellent record of environmental responsibility and initiatives.
We have checked our supplier's credentials thoroughly and you can too by CLICKING ON THE LOGOS OPPOSITE to be directed to each supplier's environmental policies.
We use local suppliers as this reduces our carbon footprint. All our suppliers are certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council UK which means our doors and carcases are all FSC certified. Our carcases made from FSC and PEFC recycled wood from sawmills and forest thinnings. Our Solid Wood Worktops are from Sustainable Sources and we also use sustainable bamboo for worktops and shelves.
We also have a stunning range of recycled glass worktops, mosaics and splash backs, not to mention beautiful natural marble, granite and engineered stone worktops that incorporate recycled materials.
We have a policy of using A+ rated appliances wherever possible and also we always us energy efficient lighting to create that special ambience.
Appliances and other large items removed from customers' houses are recycled responsibly and we are looking into a scheme whereby we can donate these to charity.
We recycle all our building waste and where possible we use breathable insulation, and materials that allow breathability such as lime plaster – see our building website for more information on our sustainable building practices. We are Green Register Eco-Refurbishment Accredited and suppliers of Natural Building Technologies (NBT) materials.
On a personal note, our electricity in the showroom provided by a fully green supplier, our cleaning products are biodegradable and we recycle all possible items.
